Congratulations, you have been invited to be an accountability partner! Wow, that's a pretty BIG DEAL. You are about to play an important role in your partner's success. So how can you be a good accountability partner?
Here are 4 ways to help you encourage your partner with a great attitude;
Remember to focus on the goal. Stay positive throughout the process and not focus on the mistakes or the shortcomings. If you notice unappropriated behavior, don't be afraid to hold your partner up to what they have agreed to pursue. Seek to build up and not tear down your partner.
Communicate clearly and regularly. Communicate honestly, directly and respectfully. Genuine and regular communication as well as listening are keys to a successful accountability partnership that works. Don't be afraid to ask questions.
Stay faithfully committed. Be trustworthy, available, willing and consistently committed. You are there for your partner's success. Your partner needs to know that you are ALL in to the end. Your partner should feel that you have their back no matter what.
Share your life, Sis. That's right- build up a relationship! This is a two-way commitment. Share your story with your partner as appropriate, and be open for their feedback and encouragement. Be inspiring!
